My name is Sean but I like to use the pseudonym Deep Mauve for my artwork and creative pursuits. 

I was raised in Des Moines, Iowa and I currently live and work in Los Angeles, California.

I am a true creator and maker and I work towards refining the creative process that I cultivate in my work. Exploration into new mediums and techniques drives my creative process and curiosity. My love of character design, world building, and cartooning was developed further during my time in art school. I graduated from the University of Iowa School of Art and Art History with a BFA in Painting and Drawing with Honors in May of 2024.

My work is mostly centered around identity, society, and trauma. I enjoy an interdisciplinary approach to artistic expression, although most of my ideas are born on pencil and paper. I primarily work in physical and digital mediums including the painting, drawing, metals, printmaking, ceramics, and animation disciplines. I have some experience and enjoy working in the ceramic, musical, and textile arts as well.
